Obituary

Jerome "Jerry" Stanley Olup, age 76 of Pleasant Hills, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus, surrounded by family on Saturday, April 15th. Jerry was the loving husband of 52 years to Audrey Lorraine (Peterson) Olup; adored Father of Jerome James Olup (Kathleen) and Jennifer Olup O’Brien (Patrick); beloved granddaughters, Sophia and Gianna. Jerry is survived by his brother, Sylvester "Sonny" Olup (Ruth Ann); his sister-in-law, Dolores (Peterson) Trunk; and his loyal dog, Roxie. He graduated Saint Michael’s High School in 1958, attended Robert Morris, and served in the Navy from 1961 to 1965, from which he was honorably discharged as a Disabled Veteran. His career spanned Thom McAn, Prudential and First Student. He loved travel and often adventured with Audrey to visit his children and vacation with friends and family; he enjoyed a fulfilling and happy life.  He will be remembered as a man who lovingly gave of himself to his family and friends. He loved to laugh and had a marvelous sense of humor.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Elizabeth of Hungary's Parish, or the Children’s Cardiomyopathy Foundation (www.childrenscardiomyopathy.org) would be welcomed, as these organizations play an important role in his family’s life.  Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, April 18, from 5-8 PM and Wednesday, April 19, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills, 15236. I was so sorry to hear the news. My deepest sympathies to Audrey, JJ, and Cissy. and to Sonny, your brother. Jerry, you were great to work with at good old Thom McAn and you had the most wonderful sense of humor. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. We had great times together for just a short time, but they will be remembered always. Farewell Jerry and Rest with God.
