Plans & Services

Typically, a funeral includes a viewing or visitation period with a casket present followed by a formal funeral ceremony for ground burial, mausoleum interment or cremation. There is no one way to hold a burial service: You may choose to hold a viewing or funeral service in our chapel or a church of your choice, or, you may choose to have a memorial service after the interment. Choose a private graveside service or a lively celebrant service in our outdoor amphitheater. However you choose to celebrate life, we will be there to help you.

Memorialization means having a place to visit a loved one, where the mortal remains of someone important to us are interred and will be visited and remembered. Cremation, like traditional burial, should not be considered an end but a beginning, the first step in the process to create a lasting tribute and a place of honor for the present generation to pass on your story to the next generation. You may choose a traditional ground burial, indoor or outdoor mausoleum, niche or your mantel at home. At Jefferson Memorial, we believe in how you should be remembered, and are here to help you make the best decision possible.

Green Funeral | $4,625

psgbp1_0.jpg

A green funeral or green burial refers to the natural burial option that has a decreased impact on the environment when compared to traditional burial. It is as natural as possible in all respects. Special biodegradable embalming fluids permit time to say goodbye, interment is in a biodegradable casket or even a fiberboard alternative container in a shroud or favorite blanket.

By using ecologically compatible methods of embalming for viewings and biodegradable caskets for burial, the remains are interred in the soil in a manner that does not inhibit decomposition and allows the body to recycle naturally. The burial site is a natural setting allowing growth of trees, shrubs and wildflowers, not manicured grass that require pesticides and herbicides to control nature. Instead, the cemetery allows nature to take its course.

At Jefferson Memorial, we believe in honoring those individuals who have dedicated their lives to serving our country and preserving the freedoms and rights we enjoy to this day. We honor those who have sacrificed their lives and highlight the achievements of any member of the armed forces.

Many armed forces branches may provide an honor guard, a flag and taps to honorably discharged veterans. At Jefferson Memorial, we have a force of retired, volunteer service members who will be on hand during any veteran service to make sure that he or she is given the respect they deserve.

Our staff will assist in completing all applications for veteran’s benefits to which a veteran or their family are entitled and eligible, which may include:

  • Securing an American flag
  • Receiving military honors
  • Obtaining a headstone/marker
  • Receiving monetary burial benefits and transportation, if applicable
