Incorporated in 1929 on a humble parcel of farmland, today, Jefferson Memorial is still owned and operated as a 4th generation family enterprise and is proudly one of the largest, most beautiful privately owned cemeteries in the United States. Envisioned and designed to be a memorial park with no tombstones to mar the beauty of the sweeping lawns, Jefferson Memorial Cemetery, Funeral Home and Crematory aspires to change the attitude of what cemeteries represent to future generations.
Jefferson Memorial serves all faiths within the South Hills and greater Pittsburgh area. All walks of life are welcome and we encourage the community to explore the cemetery’s 45 gardens where one will find distinguished bronze memorials, ornate stained glass dedications, colored tableaus of granite and marble as well as over 30 species of native plant life distinctive to Western Pennsylvania. Jefferson’s 180 developed acres are adorned with hidden bits of history and one of kind features making our cemetery a working time capsule with generations of history.
